The fine arts program has several purposes: providing the student with a broad-based experience of the arts that includes exposure to all the disciplines within the program; an opportunity to develop expertise in a single medium, focusing on painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, or woodworking and functional art; and a solid introduction to aesthetics, criticism, and theory. The fine arts program is one that emphasizes conceptual development, critical thinking, and the creation of a cohesive body of work, resulting in the preparation of our students for a variety of careers in the visual arts. |
